preliminary preparation
Drill a fitting through-hole with a diameter of approximately 4.9-5.0mm on the workpiece to be riveted according to the nominal diameter of the rivet of 4.8mm. Clean the burrs and residual debris in the hole, tightly fit and fix the workpiece to be connected, eliminate all gaps between the workpieces, and ensure that the total stack thickness is suitable for the riveting stroke of the rivet.
Clamping and debugging
Choose a manual, electric, or pneumatic riveting gun that is compatible with 4.8mm rivets, replace the corresponding nozzle size, fully insert the rivet core into the nozzle of the riveting gun, and then insert the rivet body into the pre drilled through-hole of the workpiece, keeping the rivet perpendicular to the workpiece surface.
Riveting operation
Start the rivet gun smoothly and pull the nail core. The rivet body gradually expands and adheres to the wall of the workpiece hole under the pulling force, forming a full locking head on the back of the workpiece; When the tension reaches the set threshold, the nail core will break neatly at the preset neck position, completing riveting and forming a firm fastening connection between the workpieces.
Closing inspection
After riveting, check whether the rivet head is completely attached to the surface of the workpiece, confirm that the back of the rivet head is fully formed without looseness, and gently shake the workpiece to confirm that there is no displacement in the connection; When storing rivets for a long time, take moisture-proof measures to avoid rusting of the aluminum alloy rivet body and steel nail core, which may affect the riveting performance.
