Pre-installation preparation
Check the length of the profile in advance, cut the profile according to the actual needs of vehicle side protection, clean the aluminum shavings and burrs in the profile slot, and at the same time clean the installation base surface on the vehicle chassis side to remove oil stains and protruding debris.
Prepare the matching adjustable bracket, stainless steel fastening screws, electric drill, level ruler, tape measure and other tools, confirm that the clamping structure of the profile and bracket is completely matched, and there is no deformation or misalignment problem.
2、 Pre installed alignment
Insert the cut aluminum alloy profile into the connecting slot of the adjustable bracket, and use the preset slot provided by the profile to complete the initial splicing. There is no need for additional large openings, only mark the drilling position at the locking point.
Referring to the national standard for side protection requirements, the overall position is preliminarily adjusted, and the reference height of the profile is marked to ensure that the lower edge of the profile is not more than 55cm above the ground after subsequent installation is completed, and the overall position is parallel to the side of the vehicle.
3、 Fixed locking
Drill holes at the marked points and use stainless steel fastening screws to completely lock the profile and bracket. When locking, use diagonal tightening sequence to avoid local deformation of the profile under stress.
Synchronously adjust the angle and extension distance of the bracket, use a level to verify the flatness of the profile, control the height deviation of the profile within 5mm, and ensure that the entire side guardrail has no visible tilt.
4、 Debugging and verification
Manually push and pull the entire profile to confirm that there is no looseness or shaking between the profile and the bracket, and that all locking points are securely fastened in place.
Final verification of protective parameters: Confirm that the distance between the front and rear ends of the profile and the outermost edge of the vehicle’s front and rear tires does not exceed 30cm, and that all protective clearances meet the compliance requirements for commercial vehicle side protection, in order to avoid any non-compliance issues during subsequent annual inspections.
Clean the installation scratches on the surface of the profile, and perform simple waterproof treatment at the joint gaps to prevent water vapor from infiltrating the gaps and causing local oxidation, thereby extending the service life of the profile.
