Description

FRP honeycomb side panels are high-performance composite panels made of FRP (glass fiber reinforced plastic) as the skin, paired with PP or aluminum honeycomb cores. They combine the advantages of lightweight, high strength, corrosion resistance, and structural stability, and are widely used in scenarios such as vehicle interiors, buildings, and industrial equipment.
1. Core structure and characteristics
Structural composition: The sandwich structure of “FRP skin + honeycomb core + FRP skin” is adopted, with the skin bearing bending stress and the honeycomb core transmitting transverse shear force. The mechanical properties are close to the principle of I-beam, with extremely high material utilization.
Core Advantages:
Lightweight and high strength, with a strength-to-weight ratio far higher than traditional steel and wood panels, it can significantly reduce the overall self-weight;
Resistant to corrosion and weather conditions, it remains uncracked at -40℃ and undeformed below 80℃. It is waterproof, moisture-proof, and rust-proof, making it suitable for highly corrosive environments;
With sound and heat insulation, the sealed air layer inside the honeycomb core can significantly restrict the transmission of heat and sound waves, providing excellent shock absorption and vibration damping effects.
II. Mainstream application scenarios
Transportation sector: As a replacement for traditional metal side panels in trucks, RVs, and postal vehicles, it reduces weight while increasing load capacity, with a service life of up to 10-15 years;
In the field of architecture: used for curtain wall decoration, purification room walls, and public health partitions, featuring fire resistance, impact resistance, and easy cleaning;
Industrial field: used as cover plates for sewage pools in chemical plants and corrosion-resistant flooring in electroplating workshops, suitable for special working conditions involving strong acids and alkalis
