Take the maximum value from multiple points
Use a tape measure or ruler to press against the door gap, then measure the millimeter readings of the gap at the top, middle, and bottom of the door frame. Take the maximum value as the basis for selection to avoid excessive local gaps causing air leakage.
Coin-assisted quick estimation
When a ruler is not available, use a 1-yuan coin with a thickness of about 2mm to plug the gap. The number of coins that can fit through the gap quickly estimates its width. For example, if three coins can be inserted, the gap is approximately 6mm.
Auxiliary Verification Methods
Insert thin paper into the door gap, close the door tightly, then pull the paper where resistance is noticeable. This corresponds to the gap width and helps verify the measurement results more accurately.
